The Whitebaiter.

The whitebait season runs from 1 September to 30 October, and the Waihopai River attracts its fair share of whitebaiters every year.

Personally, I don’t know what the big deal is about whitebait – they certainly do nothing for my tastebuds.

In fact, I’d rather watch paint dry than allow myself to be bored on a river bank like the guy supposedly fishing for whitebait in today’s daily photo.
