Old rotting piles.
The part of the old Stead Street Wharf that is still standing in the upper Invercargill Estuary is off-limits to the public, having been fenced off several years ago when it was deemed to be a safety risk.
These old piles, just at the end of the wharf, are slowly rotting away in the estuary, but still provide resting places for the estuary birdlife.
This is the first of a week of daily photos I intend to take using my Samsung cellphone.
