When nature gives you calm water…

As a photographer when nature gives you calm water, you take photographs of reflections. It’s only natural!

The freedom camping area at Lowburn, Lake Dunstan, is one of our favourite spots to spend a few nights, and every time were are here I take photographs of the small peninsula opposite the camping area. Today was no different as shown in today’s daily photo.

And when the urge comes to convert said photographs of reflections to black and white, it’s only natural to turn to Nik Silver Efex Pro.

One of my favourite presets in Silver Efex Pro (other than the Film Noir presets…) is “More SIlver“. I used it a few days ago in this photograph, and I’ve used it again here, with a few tweaks to the preset itself.

I particularly like the little bit of extra drama the More Silver preset adds to the sky.

Turning the clock back to September 2020, here is a photo of the same place captured with my Nikon D5100 on a foggy day.
