Jacobs River, South Westland.
I’ve referred to the moodiness of the West Coast in previous posts, and the way that that moodiness lends itself to black-and-white photography.
Today, as we headed further south to our last stop on the West Coast at Haast, I took a quick point-and-shoot photograph, on the move, as we crossed the Jacobs River bridge on State Highway 6, 80 km north of Haast.
And just for a change I’ve stuck with the black-and-white theme again, this time trying to evoke a memory of years gone by by reproducing a finish resembling what a photograph taken 80 or more years ago might have looked like.
I suspect the view looking up the valley is to Mt McDonald lost in the mist.
Just by way of comparison, here is the original jpeg straight out of camera.
