St James Church, Franz Josef.

I’m inside St James Church in Franz Josef for today’s daily photo.

St James is a small Anglican Church nestled in a bush garden setting overlooking the Waiho River.

Built in Tudor style in 1931 the church was once famous for its views of the Franz Josef Glacier through the front windows.

Regrettably, that view disappeared over the years as the glacier retreated to now be about 3 kilometres shorter than it was 100 years ago.
