a wave breaks over the northern breakwater at the mouth of the grey river

I spent some time at the end of the Southern (Blaketown) Breakwater this morning enjoying the changing wave and light patterns on the water at the mouth of the Grey River.

The weather was cold and windy with passing showers, with a swell of about 3 metres rolling in off the Tasman Sea.

For want of a better description, it was a dull colourless morning, lending itself to black-and-white photography.

Again today I am offering two daily photos for the price of one.

The main image above is clearly taken during the day, but with the rapidly changing light, the second image might have been taken at night with moonlight on the water.

P.S. Post-processing helped….
