The road over the Takaka Hill is steep and windy rising to a height of 791 metres at the summit. It’s not a road for going fast – not only because you can’t go fast anyway – but also because a slow steady ascent and descent offers majestic views over the surrounding countryside and hills of Kahurangi National Park.
